This Privacy Policy explains how JoomForge ("JoomForge," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you visit joomforge.com (the "Site"), create a JoomForge account, download or purchase our products, or contact us for support.

Our Services include Joomla extensions (components, modules, and plugins), documentation, downloads, updates, licensing, and support.

Where another provider, such as Paddle, independently processes your information under its own privacy notice, that provider's privacy notice also applies to the information it controls.

1. Who We Are

JoomForge is an independently operated digital products business that develops Joomla extensions. JoomForge is operated as a sole proprietorship based in Bangladesh. JoomForge is a trading name and is not currently incorporated as a separate legal entity.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Account information: your name, email address, username, and password when you create a JoomForge account.
• License information: the websites (domains) on which you activate a Pro product, your license key, and activation details.
• Support information: messages, screenshots, attachments, error messages, and technical details you choose to provide when you contact support.
• Communications: information you provide when you email us.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Update and license checks: when a JoomForge Pro extension checks for updates or validates a license, it sends your website domain, the product name and version, your license key, and the Joomla and PHP versions, along with the request date and time.
• Technical and security data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring pages, timestamps, and server logs generated when you use the Site.
• Cookies: essential cookies used to keep you logged in and keep the Site secure. See Section 10.

2.3 What Our Extensions Do Not Collect

JoomForge extensions do not send us the content of your website or any information about your website's visitors. Features that fetch external data, such as calendar feeds in JoomClock Pro, connect directly from your own server to the source you configure; that data does not pass through JoomForge. Free extensions do not contact JoomForge servers at all.

2.4 Information Processed by Paddle

All purchases are processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record and authorized reseller for our products.

During checkout, Paddle collects information such as your name, email address, billing address, country, payment details, and information needed for fraud prevention and tax calculation.

We never see or store your full card number or other complete payment details.

Paddle shares with us the information needed to deliver your purchase and support you, such as your name, email address, country, order reference, product purchased, and payment status.

Paddle's own Privacy Notice governs the personal information Paddle processes as a data controller.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Create and manage your JoomForge account.
• Deliver downloads, license keys, updates, and documentation.
• Validate licenses and make sure products are used within your Plan's site limit.
• Provide customer and technical support.
• Send service messages, such as purchase confirmations, license expiry reminders, security notices, and support replies.
• Send optional product news where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
• Maintain and improve the Site and our products.
• Keep business, accounting, and tax records and comply with the law.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we process personal information on these legal bases:

• Contract: to provide your account, purchased products, licenses, updates, and support.
• Legitimate interests: for security, fraud prevention, improving our products, and running our business.
• Legal obligation: to meet accounting, tax, and other legal requirements.
• Consent: for optional marketing emails and any non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:

• Paddle: for payment processing, tax handling, invoicing, fraud prevention, and refunds.
• Service providers: who help us run the Site, such as our web hosting provider and email provider, and only as needed to provide their services.
• Professional advisers: such as accountants or lawyers, where reasonably necessary.
• Authorities: where required by law or to protect our rights, customers, or systems.
• Business transfers: if JoomForge is sold, merged, or restructured, personal information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

6. Data Retention

• Account and license records: kept while your account is active and for up to 6 years afterward for accounting, tax, and license records.
• Support messages: kept for up to 2 years after the last message.
• Server and update-check logs: kept for up to 90 days, unless needed longer to investigate a security issue.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
• request deletion of your information, subject to legal record-keeping requirements;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• receive a copy of your information in a portable format;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
• complain to your local data-protection authority.

8. Data Security

We protect personal information with reasonable measures, including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, access controls, and server security updates. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

JoomForge operates from Bangladesh, and our service providers may be located in other countries. Your information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live. Where the law requires it, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information stays protected.

10. Cookies and Analytics

The Site uses only essential cookies, which are needed for logging in, keeping your session active, and security. These do not require consent and cannot be switched off without affecting how the Site works.

We do not currently use Google Analytics, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

Paddle's checkout may set its own cookies when you make a purchase; these are covered by Paddle's Privacy Notice.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

12. Third-Party Websites

The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; their own privacy policies apply.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email.
