Does AutoPilot update Joomla itself? No. It updates extensions. Use System → Update → Joomla for Joomla.
Is it safe to turn on auto-update for everything? It is safe for most extensions, but the free edition takes no backup before an update and cannot undo one. Start with extensions you can easily reinstall, keep regular site backups, and look at Activity after the first runs. AutoPilot Pro adds snapshots, checks after each update and rollback.
What happens when an update breaks my site? The free edition cannot roll back. Restore your site backup, or reinstall the previous version of the extension by hand. Then turn auto-update off for that extension until the developer releases a fix.
Why is an extension "Not supported"? It has no update server that Joomla understands. AutoPilot cannot update it.
How does AutoPilot handle paid extensions? It uses the download key you entered for the extension under System → Update Sites, as Joomla does. If the key is missing or has expired, the result is Download refused (licence).
Can I make AutoPilot update at night? Yes. Click Edit schedule on the Overview and set the task's start time. Then set up Web Cron or a command line cron job: the Lazy Scheduler alone waits for the first visitor after that time, and at night there may be none.
Does AutoPilot send data to anyone? It contacts the update servers of your extensions, to check for and download updates, as Joomla does. Nothing else is sent anywhere.
Can Free and Pro be installed together? No. Installing Pro takes over Free's data and removes Free.
